  • 本金箔

    Gold Leaf

    気温や湿度など厳しい環境下においても変色しない最高級の箔。
    厚さ10,000分の1ミリまで薄く打ち伸ばされた箔が放つ唯一の輝きには神々しさが漂います。
    金の純度の違いによって色合いが変わります。

    Gold leaf is the finest leaf that does not discolor even in harsh environments such as high temperature or humidity. It is stretched into the thin as a thickness of 1 / 10,000mm, and shines divinely. Its hue may be changed by the different purity of each gold.

  • プラチナ箔

    Platinum Leaf

    本金箔同様、気温や湿度など厳しい環境下においても変色しない高級箔。
    金銀の古い歴史に比べればプラチナを使い始めたのは近年の話。
    変色しないため銀に替わってよく使われるようになりました。
    銀より高価なため高級ブティックなどでよく使われています。

    As same as a gold leaf, a platinum leaf is the fine leaf that does not discolor even in harsh environments such as high temperature or humidity. There is no long history of using platinum in the industry comparing to gold or silver. However, now it is often used instead of silver because of its non-discoloration in such environments. It has been commonly used in such high-end boutiques because of the high price.

  • 洋金(真鍮)箔

    Brass Leaf

    銅と亜鉛の合金である真鍮を使用した箔。
    明治中頃から輸入されてきたもので、真鍮箔、丹銅箔とも言います。
    金色で、金箔の代用品としても重宝され、費用対効果が高いため現在は
    様々な場所で使われています。歴清社にてよく使われる代表的な箔です。

    A brass leaf is an alloy of copper and zinc. It has been imported from the mid MEIJI era, and is also called Shinchuhaku or Tandohaku. The color is actually gold, so it is also useful as a substitute of gold. It currently has been used in various places because of the high cost-effectiveness. It is a typical leaf commonly used in Rekiseisha.

  • 本銀箔

    Silver Leaf

    銀を使用した箔。
    他の素材に比べると銀は変色しやすいですが、何よりもそれが本物の銀である証拠であり、
    また経年変化を楽しむ日本の高い美意識を感じることができる素材です。

    It is a leaf made of silver. Silver is easier to discolor than other materials. However, this is the evidence that it is a real silver. It also is a material that may be able to see the high aesthetics of Japan which they tend to love “aging.”

  • 銅箔

    Copper Leaf

    銅を使用した箔。比較的歴史の古い箔ですが、実はあまり使用されてきていませんでした。
    カラーバリエーションのひとつとして扱われ始めたのは最近のこと。
    デザイン開発における素材の選択肢として、近年では少しずつ使われるようになってきました。

    It is a leaf made of copper. It has a longer history than other materials, but has actually not been used very much. It recently began to be used as one of the color choices. As one of the material choices in the design development, it has been used little by little in recent years.

  • 錫箔

    Pewter Leaf

    錫を使用した箔。歴清社で最も人気のある箔です。
    素材の性質上一枚一枚風合いが違うため味があり、
    和洋などのテイストを問わずインテリアにも馴染みやすい。
    特に海外において人気のある素材です。

    It is a leaf made of pewter. It is the most popular leaf in Rekiseisha. Each leaf has a different taste by its nature, so it blends into any kind of Japanese or Western interiors. it is especially a popular material that has been used in other countries.

  • アルミ箔

    Aluminum Leaf

    アルミを使用した箔。
    変色することなく、それでいて安価であるため比較的カジュアルに扱える箔です。
    デザイン開発の素材のひとつとして歴清社でも頻繁に使用しています。

    It is a leaf with aluminum. It does not discolor and is also an inexpensive material, so that it is easily used in various situations. It is also often used in REKISEISHA as one of the materials in the design development.

  • 赤貝箔

    Chemical Silver Red Leaf

    本銀箔を硫黄で燻し、硫化反応により赤色に変化させた箔。
    銀は硫黄で燻すことで赤、青、黒へと変色します。銀箔を硫黄で燻す技術があるのは日本だけ。
    非常に限られた職人にしかできない技です。同じ色を作り出すことができず
    一枚一枚に表情が異なるため、柄のように楽しめるのが特徴です。

    It is a fumigated silver leaf in sulfur that discolor into RED by the sulfurization reaction. Silver is discolored into red, blue, and black by smoking in sulfur. The technique of smoking the silver leaf by sulfur is originally developed in Japan. It is a very special skill that can be done by limited craftsmen. Because each leaf’s expression is different and not possible to produce the exact same color, there is a feature that you can actually enjoy this as a pattern.

    銀は硫黄で燻すことで赤、青、黒へと変色します。銀箔を硫黄で燻す技術があるのは日本だけ。
    非常に限られた職人にしかできない技です。黒色まで変色すると箔自体がもろくなり、
    柔らかすぎて使いづらくなるため以前はあまり親しまれてきませんでしたが、
    2016年以降は実用できることがわかり、製品にも多く使われるようになりました。

The technique of smoking the silver leaf by sulfur is originally developed in Japan. It is a very special skill that can be done by limited craftsmen. Once discoloring into black, the leaf itself becomes very fragile and way too soft. That is why, it has not been used commonly. However, it was discovered to be adequate as practical use in 2016 and now is used in the many different products.
